People in buildings around the Keefer and Main Street area were surprised to see police tape and cruiser lights flashing this afternoon. This, after an apparent robbery at a jewelry store.
Vancouver Police say one man was arrested just outside the Ultimate 24 Karat Gold Company at 531 Main Street.
One man – says he became caught up in the situation when he – and a number of other people – were arrested after exiting the building next door to the shop.
“Because they didn’t know what the suspect looked like…they arrested anybody who walked through the alley. They took me over to the police station, wrote up a statement, and then they let me go.”
Police say the actual suspect eventually gave himself up.
No one was injured during the robbery.
