Surrey RCMP spent the morning canvassing the neighbourhood around 152nd and 57th avenue after yet another shooting last night.
Staff Sergeant Murray Hedderson: “What I was told this morning is that they were non life threatening, but as I say they are gunshot wounds so they are serious trauma.”
Investigators were slated to interview the men this morning – but say it’s too early to know if it’s linked to a recent wave of gang violence in Surrey and North Delta.
Police are now looking for a dark-coloured Sedan seen fleeing the scene.
“Both men were transported to a regional trauma hospital where they’re being treated for their injuries. At this time we have not made a conclusive identification as to who the men are,” said Sergeant Dale Carr. “And we’ll be waiting, once they’re treated and are okay to speak to, we’ll be trying to identify exactly what happened.”
Carr says at this point in the investigation, the shooting appears to be targeted at these two young men.
Sgt. Carr says investigators are also looking for the driver of a vehicle of interest.
If anyone has any information about this shooting or any other shooting, they are asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-915-6566.
Tipsters who want to remain anonymous should call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS.
