Yet another sink hole is being investigated on Clarke Road between Port Moody and Coquitlam.
Project director Amanda Farrell says it is likely this stretch of road will remain closed until this morning at the earliest.
“The road will certainly be closed tonight at the minimum and we’ll have more information for you on what the next steps will be.”
Farrell says the hole is about 1 to 2 metres in diametre.
Residents say the detours are almost as frustrating as the sink holes themselves.
“Traffic is crazy on my street it’s just… people are blowing right through the stop sign right now as I’m talking to you. The flagger is yelling at cars.”
Jen Stebbing lives near Clarke and Seaview and she says she’s tired of watching where she steps.
“It’s definitely concerning. You don’t know what traffic is going to do one day to the next and you don’t know if the ground is going to fall out from beneath you while you’re driving home.”
This is the fourth sink hole to open up in the area since construction started.
