Police in Surrey and Delta may be closer to solving a series of recent shootings linked to a low-level drug war.
At least two of the four people arrested so far will face charges.
“Two males have been arrested and are being held and charges are being recommended to crown counsel.”
This is the latest in an on going investigation into a low-level drug war.
Sergeant Sarah Swallow says it’s still early days but there could be more arrests and charges based on what was siezed in the houses.
“At this point a large amount of currency and illegal drugs were siezed from the houses.”
More than 50 officers from Delta police, CFSEU, Surrey RCMP and Langley RCMP excuted four search warrants at homes in Surrey and Langley.
“We’re not going to name the locations of the properties right now for officer safety issues, but they’re executing several search warrants to do with the ongoing investigations between Delta and Surrey with the violence.”
Since March 9th, more than 30 shootings have been recorded with at least half believed to be sparked by a street-level drug trade dispute involving rival dealers.
Several arrests have already been made.
