As construction on the Pattullo Bridge is set to begin next year, it looks like trucks will be banned from using the bridge.
The head of the BC Truckers Association Louise Yako says they have at least a year work out a plan.
“We want to be able to understand exactly how that traffic is going to be dispersed, that’s something that I know Translink has been doing some work on so I look forward to seeing that data.”
Yako would also like to see tolls on alternative routes like the Port Mann bridge reduced during that time.
“Our members are paying the highest rate for use of the Port Mann bridge so we would certainty be welcoming any reduction for them.”
