Hundreds of people lined up on Georgia and Thurlow in downtown Vancouver this morning, all for a chance to win up to a $1000.
Coast Capital Savings’ Jason Peters says as part of a mortgage promotion, 300 people received cash-filled piggy banks.
“We realize that housing costs in this city and around BC continue to rise, and that puts a lot of pressure on families to either buy a home or stay in it. We wanted to do something this morning that symbolizes that people need help.”
So, what would you do with a thousand dollars?
“Probably save it for college.”
“I’d pay for my fridge.”
“I would pay my rent.”
“Go to Playland!”
Piggy banks handed out had varying values, all the way up to $1000.
