Frustrated by escalating violence, one Surrey man is asking his community to walk beside him as he prays for change.
Mani Amar says it’s our “moral duty” to help bring awareness to youth and gang violence, and that is one reason he organized a Candlelight Peace March for tonight.
Surrey and Delta has seen 27 separate shootings this spring, and RCMP say a low level drug turf war is the cause.
Amar is pleading for those who share his concern to walk together, united and like-minded to evoke awareness.
The walk starts at 9:00 at the corner of 120th and 72nd.
