A heavy security presence is expected at North Vancouver Provincial Court Wednesday as the three teens facing charged in the stabbing death of 19 year old Burnaby native Luka Gordic appear for a bail hearing.
The hearing was tense and emotionally charged Tuesday as dozens of family members from both sides yelled at each other prompting security to keep distance between the two families by lining the aisles.
Friend of the victim, Robbie Wright, says many are disappointed three of the four accused are facing a lesser charge of manslaughter.
“I am sure Luka’s family, his mom and dad, are hoping for more, it’s their son. Obviously it shouldn’t have happened, it shouldn’t have gone down that way, but also they are young to, not much can really happen, that is the problem as well.”
Investigators say the violence broke out after a dispute between two groups who knew each other.
Friends of Gordic have created the hashtag #JusticeForLuka and created a Facebook page Justice for Luka Gordic
