“No one can imagine this hell.”
Earlier this week we spoke with a local Neurologist about what happens when someone suffering from chronic migraines goes to the E.R.
After the interview we received an email from Victoria Hames:
My name is Victoria,
I am a chronic migraine and chronic cluster headache sufferer. I have been unable to work now for 2 1/2 years and I have been suffering from them for 16 years.
I have been suicidal.
I have frequented emergency rooms.
Most typical treatments don’t work for me. And no treatment with any meaningful relief.
It took me 2 years to find my gem of a neurologist. And he still is unable to provide Meaningful relief.
I have lost so much, even my private long term insurance provider has booted me off benefits because they’re just headaches.
Emergency rooms provide the typical drug cocktail. By the time I reach the ER I have already spent a week treating myself with similar meds they offer. To no effect…life sucks much of the time.
I could go on for a while.
I have been told in ER by a triage nurse to just take a Tylenol!
My kids have been my saving grace.
No one can imagine this hell.
