The entire country is waiting to see an Alberta under an NDP government.
Former BC NDP Premier Ujjal Dosanjh says Premier elect Rach Notley is more centre than left.
“My view is that she is a socially progressive, centrist person with good economic sense.”
While speaking with CKNW’s Drex, Dosanjh said he had full confidence in Notley’s ability to provide Alberta with a balanced government.
As for the two controversial pipelines, Northern Gateway and Kinder Morgan, Dosanjh says he doesn’t expect to see a major shift in resource management with Rachel Notley’s NDP government.
“I’m quite confident that she’s aware of the importance of the energy economy to Alberta and the country and I don’t think that she believes that even if you’re in government you can somehow change the needle far away from the centre in terms of governing.”
Dosanjh worked with Notely for the BC NDP in the early 2000s.
