“It was a pretty difficult process for them to decide to leave. So they’re pretty committed and they know the big opportunity for them to help is to raise money and awareness here”
That’s Mike Magee, chief of staff to Vancouver’s Mayor, on his son Aedan’s tough decision to leave Nepal.
The 20-year-old Langara student touched down in Vancouver this afternoon.
Magee says his son is tired and happy to be home, but heartsick about the destruction he’d witnessed, already thinking of how to send help.
“A fundraiser for Nepal, about asking people to come over and buy and earthquake kit for their household.”
Burnaby and Mission firefighters also arrived home today, after lending their skills to help rescue efforts in the quake ravaged country.
