It’s going to get harder to find parking in New Westminster.
City council decided last night to go ahead with its plan to demolish half of the Front Street parkade and re-habilitate the other half.
The structure won’t be torn down right away.
The repairs on the eastern half will be finished before the western section will come down later in the year.
The plan had been opposed by a group of people, who preferred to see the parkade turned into a green space and kept up to block out the noise for nearby condos.
