The tweet came out a few hours ago from Vancouver born and bred sportscaster Buck Fay now firmly implanted in Toronto.
No #NHL team has ever lost eight straight home playoff games. #Canucks have lost seven. #mustwinFriday
Now some of the Canucks who lived that win almost four years ago are quick to say, that was a different team. So were the squads in 2012 and 2013 that could not find victory between the viaducts in the cup tournament.
Wow. It was June 10, 2011. Game five of the Stanley Cup final. Canucks 1 Bruins 0. Max Lapierre scored the lone goal and Roberto Luongo got the goose egg.
Eight players from that unit skated for the Canucks last night in game one versus Calgary.
I would hope those chaps have some jump in game two, because I’m pretty sure they do not want to set the record. So yea, I guess it’s in their heads a little.
If the ‘Nucks stumble again tomorrow and if there is a game five here a week tonight, perhaps the team and you the fan can change it.
Vancouver was better away from the Raj this season.
Maybe Trevor Linden can ask the NHL if they could sport their white away jerseys.
Perhaps management should do the opposite of some teams, instead of keeping other teams fans out, maybe the Canucks should embrace the cow folks to the east and only sell tickets to people with Alberta and eastern BC postal codes.
It might be too late. This could be on you.
So if there is a game five, Canucks fans should welcome their team by rocking red jerseys and shirts. Make it a sea of red and BOOOOO the heck out of them.
Kidding. kind of. If the Canucks cannot sort it out tomorrow night in game two, desperate measures might be required.
