Two big pulp and paper unions will join forces as they head into a new round of bargaining.
Unifor and the Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada are teaming up as they prepare for upcoming negotiations in 2017.
PPWC president Arnie Bercov says this establishes a “strong and unified voice”, and working together, the unions can “better resolve the issues in a challenged industry.”
The two groups have bargained separately since 2002 but have agreed to work together in the future.
The PPWC has thousands of BC members.
Unifor has more than 300 thousand nation wide.
