“It’s what gets us anywhere, to school, especially to school.”
A Chilliwack family is appealing to the public for assistance in locating a stolen powered wheelchair used by their six-year-old daughter who was born with cerebral palsy.
Charlene Kew says Monday morning the family awoke to the shock of their specially-equipped Honda Odyssey stolen from the driveway.
It was later located, damaged, with no wheelchair in site.
“When my husband looked in, he says it was all torn apart, parts of the inside of the roof was torn, he could see metal and wires, there was mud all tracked in, worst of all the lift had just been yanked out and beaten up, pretty much destroyed.”
Kew says the wheelchair is like her daughter’s legs, as she cannot walk, talk or move by herself.
The family is asking you to call authorities if you have any information on its whereabouts.
