It won’t be official until April 1st but CKNW has been leaked emails indicating two Metro Vancouver grocery stores will be selling wine on there shelves next month.
Jim Pattison’s Save on Foods on 152nd street in Surrey will have wine on its shelves soon after a deal was reached with the BC Wine Institute.
Another grocery store in downtown Vancouver is in the wine pipeline.
Also leaked to CKNW were the BC Wine Institute Talking points for those pesky media calls.
On BC wine only on grocery store shelves the talking points say its part of a buy local campaign designed to pair local wine with local food.
On the controversial wholesale pricing scheme it is the provincial government’s idea.
It also tells staff to emphasize price fairness, but CKNW has learned BC Wine Institute licensees will sell wine at March prices in April.
