A North Vancouver family is suing the province and others after a cyclist was killed on the Stanley Park causeway.
Antonina Skoczylas was biking into downtown Vancouver two years ago when she collided with a pedestrian, was flung into traffic, and hit by a bus.
Her death prompted the government to announce just last week $7-million into widening pathways and installing safety fencing.
Her husband and son are now suing the province, alleging the sidewalks were too narrow, too close to traffic, and didn’t have barriers.
The suit also names the bus driver, the Blue Bus transit system and two pedestrians.
None of the claims has been proven in court.
