They have a suspect in custody.
Now, police are trying to figure out what prompted a stabbing at Surrey’s Princess Margaret high school around two this afternoon.
“It seems at this point that it was an altercation between the two males and then, the stabbing occurred, the weapon was dropped and he fled out of the school.”
RCMP Sgt. Dale Carr says the suspect was arrested within three hours and the weapon has been recovered, but few other details can be released.
“The incident occurred inside the school in one of the shops, metal work or woodwork shop, something along those lines and I don’t know the extent or the history of the student.”
Police say the victim has been treated at hospital and released.
No names have been released.
