Des Hague resigns amid dog-kicking controversy

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

The embattled CEO of Centreplate has resigned, amid the controversy over him kicking and choking a Doberman puppy in a Yaletown elevator several weeks ago.

Des Hague is being replaced by Chris Verros as acting President and CEO.

After the video of Hague went public, he and the company apologized, and he promised to donate 100-thousand dollars and do 1000 hours of community work for animal welfare.

However, an online petition calling for his ouster reached 180-thousand names.

Centreplate provides catering services for places like BC Place Stadium and the MTS Centre which is home to the Winnipeg Jets.

  1. good, glad he resigned, however he still needs to be charged for he will just continue elsewhere and still has sever anger issues. If he treats an animal like this, I can’t imagine what he treats his children or other children and adults like. He is a walking time bomb

  2. As I recall, my original comment about this jerk was right on, but because he was part of the “establish” you did not print my comment!!!!!

I am a dog owner of many years and my dog as all dogs do, gives me nothing but love and obedience!!!!! Having said that, I am asking the police to lay charges against this imbecile and for CKNW to get behind this request!!! Can you do that Jon McComb???? However I doubt that this radio station really cares as they belong in the left wing, liberal “pie in the sky group”!!!!

  3. I don’t remember Cristy Clark on CKNW , I didn’t lisen to her very much , but I do remember . CKO , and Pat Burnes , He was right on . he probably would have cruseafied the pupy malester .
