Milk board accepts milk again from troubled Chilliwack farm

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

The BC Milk Marketing Board has decided to pick up milk again from the dairy farm in Chilliwack at the centre of an animal abuse investigation.

The regulator had stopped accepting and destroyed milk from Chilliwack Cattles Sales this week after processors refused to receive it.

Eight workers were fired earlier this month after an animal rights’ group released video footage of cows being hit with canes, chains and rakes.

The board now says it has consulted with the BC SPCA, and will resume picking up milk at the farm, but will keep an eye on the facility.

  1. supply and the demand might be a shortage in the wind and the price of milk goes up! The supply and demand cry of the right works for business, but not for workers when they are in demand!
