A drunk woman ran away from rescue crews and fell down a 40-foot ravine at Vancouver’s Wreck Beach last night.
Inspector Bryon Massie says a few of the woman’s friends called RCMP around 10 o’clock Monday night saying she was too drunk to walk the winding steep trail that links wreck beach to the road above.
Massie says when crews got there, she bolted.
“We were able to talk control of her, to get her back up the embankment to an area where the ambulance could assist her.”
Massie says she managed to escape serious injury and that the entire ordeal was avoidable.
He adds she has been taken to hospital for assessment.
