UPDATE: Benning named GM for the Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, BC, Canada / (CKNW AM) AM980

The Vancouver Canucks have named former Boston Bruins Assistant GM and former Vancouver Canucks player Jim Benning as the new General Manager of the hockey club.

Benning has been the Assistant GM of the Bruins since 2006 and before that was the Director of amateur scouting for the Buffalo Sabres.

A former Western Hockey Leaguer from Saskatchewan, Benning played junior in Portland and still makes his off season home in Oregon…

Jim Benning looks set to be named the new GM in Vancouver…we will keep you up to date on this story as it progresses.

Dreger has also said that former Nashville Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz is high on Vancouver’s list for Head Coach…although John Stevens, the Assistant coach in Los Angeles, is someone that that also may be on the short list as well…the Kings however, are still involved in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

  1. Poor guy.
Also, if he doesn’t take it and one of those other guys do, well poor them.

All this nonsense over the silly little kids game of hooooooooooooooooooookey!

      • Yes Ted. Really.

After all when it comes down to it, the little kids game of hoooooooooooooookey is just a little less exciting than watching the grass growing in the middle of December.

But I sure get a kick out of the over paid fools wasting their money on over priced beer, over priced hot dogs over priced parking and over priced every thing to watch the over paid kids playing their little game of hooooooooooooooooooooooooookey. And that’s what it is. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKEY!
