Kevin Wong, CPA, CA, is a Partner and MNP’s Leader for Taxation Services in the Vancouver region. Kevin has more than 19 years of experience providing Canadian income tax compliance and Canadian specialty tax services to private and public corporations.
Working one-on-one with his clients, Kevin assists with tax planning related to corporate reorganizations, sale and purchase of businesses and business combinations. His experience has provided him with in-depth knowledge in the areas of immigration and emigration taxation, as well as in taxation related to mining and exploration, including flow-through share financing. Kevin also designs and implements estate plans that protect wealth for current and future generations.
Kevin received his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 1998 after earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance from Simon Fraser University. Committed to professional development, he has completed parts I, II and III of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Course, as well as other advanced tax courses. Kevin is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Tax Foundation and has been a group leader for the CICA In-Depth Tax Course. Kevin has been qualified, and appeared, as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
Nancy King, CPA, CA, TEP is an Associate with MNP’s Taxation Services group in the South Surrey office. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in public practice, Nancy delivers tax services to personal, trust and private company clients.
Working closely with her clients, Nancy provides a wide range of specialized tax services to small and medium-sized organizations in a variety of industries, helping her clients to pursue attractive tax opportunities. Developing an in-depth understanding of her clients’ circumstances, Nancy delivers strong advice and strategies for corporate, trust and personal tax planning, estate and succession planning and corporate reorganizations. By learning about her clients and their businesses, Nancy provides tailored solutions to meet their unique needs and goals.
Nancy is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), designated in 1997. She completed the CICA’s In-Depth Tax Course and the Canadian Tax Foundation’s Tax Estate Planning (TEP) course in 2000. She is a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Mark Hoag, CPA, CA, is a Partner with MNP’s Private Enterprise group in Vancouver. For the last 12 years Mark has focused on working exclusively with owner-operated businesses. He provides his expertise to clients in the areas of real estate development, the hospitality industry and to incorporated professionals.
Mark works extensively with clients who have expanded internationally and has assisted on projects that include succession planning in multi-generational business operations. He has experience serving clients across Canada and internationally and has worked in Vancouver, Ottawa and London, England. His breadth of experience in various local industries allows him to insightfully support his clients in expanding and growing their businesses.
Mark has a Bachelor of Political Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1998
Mark is currently on the Board of Directors of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade and the Women’s Enterprise Centre. He is also involved with youth soccer as a member of the Vancouver Athletic Football Club Board of Directors.PA, CA), designated in 1997. Mike Anderson, CPA, CA, is a Partner with MNP’s Assurance Services group in South Surrey. Mike has extensive experience working with owner-managed and family-owned businesses, incorporated professionals and public sector entities, including First Nations and government-funded organizations.
Mike takes great pride in understanding all of his clients’ unique and diverse business needs and providing value-added audit and tax planning solutions. Mike helps clients understand complex accounting and tax issues that impact their business, proactively manages their reporting needs by conducting audits that promote transparency, minimizes risks and identifies opportunities for growth.
Mike is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Simon Fraser University. Mike is passionate about giving back to his community and has been involved with several charitable organizations. He is the treasurer of both the Semiahmoo Volunteer Policing Community Society and the Peninsula Community Foundation and is actively involved coaching baseball and hockey in South Surrey.
Shane King, CPA, CA, is a Partner with MNP’s Assurance Services group in South Surrey. With more than 20 years of experience, Shane provides in-depth audit and business consulting services to owner-managed businesses in various industries including construction, manufacturing, fishing, storage operations and professionals.
Shane has developed areas of specialization that included corporate reorganizations, general estate planning for owner / managers and basic tax research. Shane works closely with his clients so they develop a solid understanding of their assurance and taxation situations and presents clients with options that will help them achieve their goals.
Shane earned a Financial Management Diploma from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 1992. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) who qualified in 1999 and he has completed the CICA Canadian In-Depth Tax course. Actively involved in his community, Shane volunteers his time to a large number of organizations, and is currently fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society through their Ride 2 Survive campaign.
Sidhartha (Sid) Rao, JD, LL.M. (U.S. Tax), is a Partner with MNP’s International Tax Services group. Sid specializes in helping high-net-worth individuals and Canadian businesses with U.S. activities navigate the complexities of cross-border tax so they can concentrate on the things that make them successful.
As an American living in Canada, Sid appreciates the complexities and issues faced by clients with U.S. tax filing obligations. He draws on his legal background and exposure to accounting to deliver cross-border tax solutions tailored to clients’ unique situations.
Sid’s services include evaluating exposure to U.S. state and local taxes, US individual and business compliance, structuring investment into the U.S., and consulting U.S. persons on expatriation. His experience includes working with Canadian retailers and wholesalers expanding to the U.S. as well as Canadians investing in U.S. real estate.
Sid received a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Indiana University School of Law in 2006 and earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in U.S. tax from Northwestern University School of Law.
