BC's Auditor General has released another report critical of the provincial government.

This time, John Doyle says the BC Ambulance Service needs to do a better job monitoring its air division.

"Generally, we've got a good quality air ambulance service, but what we found was the performance analysis that should be undertaken by any management group was not being done and as a consequence, the organization was not learning from things it did well in order to improve its service in the future."

Doyle's made three recommendations aimed at improving performance levels and the government's promised to implement all of them.

I didn't think I'd ever say this about Mr. Doyle (who I think has done a great job). But Mr. Doyle is a bit inaccurate in what he stated. Governments do have a performance analysis processes; it's based on the amount of money they can steal out of your wallet and waste through mismanagement. The more this is, the better they believe their job has been performed. Not to be too cynical; but the more this is, the more they can personally extract for their salaries, pensions and other benefits. Aren't they all wonderful; and it crosses all party lines.

@BCSkulker Another benefit of poor management is preferred air ambulance service, or any other medical service for government workers (hospital workers, doctors, police, politicians) and their families and friends, such as the media.

Does anyone know the policy for choosing an air ambulance over a ground ambulance for a patient in critical condition?

What is the criteria for prioritizing the medical care of non goverment workers, non media people, and the other non "high profile" sick and injured citizens of BC?
