The developers of a new residential highrise in downtown Vancouver have filed a response to legal action being taken by a former Prime Minister - who wants her money back.

A day after it was revealed Kim Campbell is one of more than a dozen buyers suing the builders of the Hotel Georgia, they've denied any wrongdoing.

Documents filed in BC Supreme Court show Campbell's purchase of a condo she'd made a deposit on in 2007 was slated for completion February 22nd - that's a day after she filed action demanding the return of the $368,000 she'd already spent.

The original completion date was December of 2011, but lawyers for the developers claim contracts were signed extending the completion date.

Some buyers are already living in the 156-unit building.

Campbell's case against the developers is tentatively slated to go trial in January

too bad she did not use her time as BC's scapegoat of the day to change the rules about buying pre-built!!
that is the DUMBESt thing I have ever seen!!

How many times has this same thing happened to p[eople in BC
OOOPSS - we're over budget again!

BC should be renamed OB - Over Budget!

That must be tough for Kim, being treated like an average consumer with a spare $368 thousand to put down on an invisible condo. You'd think having the best summer job in the country would have got her some respect. Maybe she can get Brian to vouch for her.

Why was this news? CKNW is really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. What ever happened to investigative journalism ! Must have been a very slow news day !
