Premier's staff brush off latest allegations of misusing resources

The Premier's Chief of Staff is downplaying more damning accounts of the BC Liberals using government resources for partisan needs.

The Province newspaper is reporting that Premier Christy Clark insiders hatched a plan to use government resources to get the Liberals ahead in swing ridings.

This, after a report this week found there were serious misuses of government resources and staff on the liberals' strategy to court the ethnic vote ahead of this May's election.

The Province quotes confidential sources who say the Premier's staff organized back in 2011 several teams who would help the Liberals swing ridings -- with at least one meeting happening in a Cabinet Minister's office.

Clark's Chief of Staff, Dan Doyle, says he's been advised that teams of political staff did discuss swing ridings at the legislature.

But he says no one should be surprised that political staff talk politics during their work day, and that this initiative was 'fairly well known' at the time because it involved so many people.

    Gee...where's joes and the gang?

I want to know what other Ministers Offices were involved in this? The report said it encompassed several Ministers offices!!! If they try and say NOT Richie Rich, then that is beyond believable!!!

I feel sorry for every member of the BC Liberal Party for being DUPED.!

Christie and her Conservative friends from Ottawa really don't have a handle on the BLOODSPORT of BC Politics..... We in BC take our Politics Seriously......watch out Adrian, Woman in BC know our Politics!

I don't understand why the Chief of Staff isn't on the hot seat?

The COS is aware of everything........or supposed to be. But seriously, if they can't manage this right or a sign agreement with Telus, then really, they should not be allowed to govern anymore!!

It seems lies, corruption, mismanagement, fraud, breaking the law, are phrases that the general public are taking for granted with this Liberal government. What I cannot understand is why the RCMP have not stepped in. The opposition seems useless in bring them to account so where does the common person turn to get protection? Even 2 months seems too long to wait to right this wrong.

@WayneM_2492 Protection from law enforcement comes from signing a new 20 year deal with the RCMP. Didn't you know that bighting the hand that feeds you is not a good idea, ha ha!?

We are witnessing the implosion of what was once a respected Political Party. I hope that the public which once supported the Liberals are able to regroup in the future and put this group of misfits behind them.

There must be a huge number of very embarrassed voters in B.C. who voted for this corruption during the last 2 elections. Didn't they see the writing on the wall during the last election?

Which reminds me... where is our old buddy Gordon Campbell? I hear he is doing quite well hobnobbing with the elite of Europe with his own personal driver and personal chef while leaving this mess behind. Maybe he can get a job for Christy and the gang helping him cope with the stresses of his gig in London, England.

Of course it is downplayed. Whenever the lieberal s get caught a few non essentials are tossed under the campaign buss. Last week or so Crissty said that no money was used now she said that a cheque for 70,00 was already cut and paid. to who ? Crissy ,Colman ,Dejong received the 70000 bonus for a job well done. How did this gang of liars and thieves talk Michelle Stillmen into standing for this gang is beyond me . I assumed that the Olympic standards would have told her to run away real quick or perhaps she is just another liebral.coming out of the closet at feeding time.if

In reading all the comments in this forum, I don't notice any of the obvious Liberal supporters, pontifficating from a great height. What happened boyz and girlz? Too busy burning your cards? You sure had lots to say a month ago, with your venemous Liberal attitudes. There is still time for you to join the winning party.
The best thing about this comedy, is the Liberals are spending (what is suppose to be their money, but who really knows) money, slagging the NDP and DIX for a peanut sized boner many years ago, and these clowns get caught with more serious shysterisms in 2 weeks than Dix could and Clark could even dream about. Snookie, the Slag-Ads were not really a brilliant idea, and you are too dumb to figure out basic human physcology!

I lost count but how many times in the last couple of years has the liberal gang "brushed off" allegations of scandal that are usually brought out by honest bloggers while government run MSM stays silent?

I am surprised that we get even the hint of wrong doing from reading or listening to any media what so ever.

What do they do wait for AGT and others like him to do their work and print a rough edit of the truth hoping that will keep the sheep happy?

Are your forgetting yourself? You told commonsense that if the NDP win government, they are only in it for one term, which I have told you over and over what would happen, but you being so stubborn, just took a little while to admit it. Glad to see that your temper level is at a high rating. My intention is to keep you upbeat at all times.
