RCMP say if you're a law-abiding citizen you have nothing to worry about.

But people in Surrey living close to where two bodies were found this morning say they are living in fear.

Resident Bob Campbell says bodies are being dumped on Colebrook Road, while drive by shootings, and killings have also happened on the ridge above.

Campbell says there are also drug houses and it has reached the point where people no longer feel safe.

"Our citizens are really scared. We had one citizens send us a letter this morning, that was actually copied the Solicitor General saying, "Help us". And people in this are who walk their dogs at night, who go in the park--we love it for what it is, but you can't do that, because what if you're there when someone is dragging a body out of a car and you're walking your dog".

People in the area are looking for help as they meet with Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts.

RCMP say if you're a law-abiding citizen you have nothing to worry about. What the hell is this statement when a gun fires it really does not discriminate who it hits. If they use those spray pistols the rounds are doing exactly that spraying all over the place. There use is for urban warfare(house to house or close quarters) ! Then they took our guns away or make it difficult to purchase and the criminals get them like popcorn! Now look at the chickens coming home to roost. We need arms not cops they kill also and walk away! If anyone comes into my home uninvited that will be a very sorry day! I will gladly stand up to protect my home, life and country if the police are not able to! If a crime gladly I will do the time to protect my family and home.!This is not a threat, it is a promise! Why do good people need to live in this kind of fear! The fear of the unknown.

@Ken280 I need to go see my Dr. I actually agree with Ken280. This is a first. Likely the last. Ken280 - Valid comments. The RCMP comments are think were very foolish and not well thought out comment to try calm any fears of innocent by-standers. I think it may have the opposite effect.

@Ken280 We both know you can not defend yoursel in your house unless you can reasonably prove that your life is in danger ...and even then the legal system is going to take a dim view of your actions . I seriously doubt that the gng members are going to invade your home ..but the potential for being struck by a wayward bullet is a real concern.
Good for the residents of Surrey for voicing their fears . Too often the cops just come around after the fact to document the mess.

The sentence is incomplete... "RCMP say if you're a law-abiding citizen you have nothing to worry about...as long as you don't leave your house."

Funny, I just learned 2 weeks ago that the glass next to my front door is "bullet" proof. I wonder who the original owner was.

@BOBF_5970 28 years. Well, 24 with 4 years working overseas.

I am with you as I do not fear either. I don't live at 152/Colebrook, but I am not far away from 152 toward South Surrey.

This may be it, but may not either.

If these Surrey residents have absolute undefiable proof that these are "drug houses" & they can point them out to the YELLOW striped pants wearers, & nothing is done about those houses, well sometimes there are accidentally broken bottles of molotov cocktails that are burning at the time they accidentally get dropped at the front door of these houses ! Of course if investigation after these "accidental" fires proves that the residents were totally Law Abiding, Well Who Will Sleep Well In A Jail Cell ?
