More signs of turmoil within the BC Liberal party.

Surrey-Fleetwood Liberal candidate Peter Fassbender says his riding association president, and former MLA, Brenda Locke has resigned, but he knew that was coming.

Fassbender also says the riding association presidents in Surrey-Green Timbers and Surrey Whalley are also on the way out.

He says he doesn't know the individual circumstances in those cases but says "...this too shall pass."

CKNW's been told those people are unhappy with the leaked strategy on how to attract the ethic vote and the candidate selection process.

BC Liberal Party campaign director Mike McDonald says they party has not had three resignations today.

He says the president of the Surrey Fleetwood riding association let the party know on February 7th that she intended on stepping down because of other committments in her life.

As far as the other two, he says ".....no letters of resignation were received as of this morning."

But he goes on to say a letter may be on the way from Surrey Green Timbers....it just hasn't arrived yet.

Christy Clark needs to resign. The Liberals will do better without her.

@HJDH I think you’re right and that’s why she needs to stay right at the helm

Sadly, the story will be Christy, the Rita Johnstone or Kim Campbell of recent BC politics.....a very nice lady brought in at the end that could not save the Party...it is all over.

      @PaulF_5 Clark wasn't brought in...

@PaulF_5 Saddest though wasn't a woman. It was Ujjal Dosanjh. With a decent party around him, he might've done something with the province rather than getting bombed into oblivion in the election set up by our good friends Glen Clark and Adrian Dix.

It's too late for the Liberals, Cristy Clark or not.
Unless the folks of BC pay attention we are going to have an NDP administration with a man of few morals and fewer ideas. Given the dictatorial powers of a BC premier, this will be very bad indeed.

@MichaelD_10 One cannot be more corrupt then the BC Lie beral party which they seem to prove daily.

@MichaelD_10 I think you need to look a little closer at the BC Liberal track record especially the last 4 years! Beyond me how anyone could think we would be better off with the Liberals. Are the NDP going to be any better? probably not but maybe the pendelum will swing back a little more to joe average taxpayer for a change instead of big business.

The Titanic has hit a ice berge and the ship is going down, some will be saved but most are lost forever.

@bctaxpayer This would be a great time not to have any lifeboats on the old Liberal Titanic.

I never did like her, nor cared for her. Most people I highly dislike seem to never disappear. Dix, Cummins, Clark, Delaney, Simpson, Smyth...I can keep going. I just expect them to never leave.

@commonsense There are other names Basi Virk, Gordon Campbell, Colman, Krueger. Their names will never disappear from BC Political life

Keep them coming. Let's rub the BC Liberals nose in their mess every day until the election. Gordy left them swimming in a cesspool and anybody who hasn't abandoned ship by now isn't worth spit.

If I was the association president and Peter Fassbender was the candidate I would resign too.
