A suspected car thief is back behind bars after having loose lips on a Vancouver bus.

The man from Port Coquitlam was arrested after a fellow passenger told Transit Police he was overheard telling a friend he was wanted by Vancouver Police and he was on his way downtown to steal a car.

Justin Charles Douglas Butters was picked up at the Broadway Skytrain station on Monday.

On top of having outstanding warrants for two counts of mischief in October, the 24-year old didn't have valid transit fare.
He's due back in court March 8th.

I think Justin Charles Douglas Butters should change his name to Justin Charles Douglas Butthead.

So what does this tell you about how criminals view our legal system?

They think it is a joke !

Obviously Mr Butters isn't the shiniest penny in the jar - and will be out on the street stealing cars again-and will be doing so without getting caught or the consequences of being caught

    This made news?

I have known Justin for quite some time and am honored to call him my friend. He's no car thief, he just likes to ramble. Words are words. Perhaps if the fellow passenger had exchanged some of his own, rather than intervene with Justin's reality out of fear, he would be better able to differentiate between a conspiracy and simply saying funny things.

Adding to the story. Justin was put in a cell, where he was addressed by his last name and asked to state his name. Because he is dignified, he let the officer know the ridiculousness of the request. To which the officer pushed him against the wall and proclaimed he'd see how funny our friend would be after 8 hours. Aren't we trying to make away with bullying?
I wasn't there to witness this first person but I wrote down what I believe to be true.

@Adrian B [deleted] Correction: he was grabbed by the shirt and pushed into the cell, not pushed against the wall.
