Surrey Mounties say the victim of an overnight shooting in the Whalley neighbourhood will recover.

Gang squad officers were spotted at the scene -- on 103A Avenue near Old Yale Road -- but police aren't commenting on a possible motive.

They do say the have not made any arrests.
