Premier gives the NDP a thrashing
VICTORIA/CKNW(AM980)

Premier Christy Clark ripped in to the opposition New Democrats in a fiery speech in Victoria today.

"So i wanna be really clear with British Columbians about where I stand."

And Clark told a forestry conference that clarity does not apply to the NDP, which said this week its policy on log exports will be fleshed out after it wins a mandate.

"How can you have a competition of ideas when only one person has their ideas out on the table?"

NDP Leader Adrian Dix has maintained he's put forth more policies than any other opposition leader this early in an election cycle - Clark isn't buying it.

The Liberals made changes this week that the NDP say will ramp up log exports while they want to reduce them.

So I wanna be really clear? Jeez, our Premier is so articulate, isn't she? So proud......

@cherylb_2696 Absolutely, she wants to be clear. Just like she was on the Gateway pipeline? We don't know where she stands on it as of yet. But, her Alberta fund raisers know...that she is actually going to approve the Gateway! Goodbye environment!

The grammar and spelink these news people put out is a real salute to the BC Public School System!

@Ron_26 fire and passion? how about good old fear! this lady and her party are a disgrace, fundraising in Alberta, what the hell is with that? do not trust her, do not like her and all one has to do is read the most recent articles from intergrity bc to understand the truth in all their advertising, lies about lowest taxes and lies about balancing the budget. Its no wonder she is running scared if I was running on their record of the last 4 years I would be trying to shift the focus to someone else as well.

Dix disagrees with everything the Liberals offer, but he never offers any substantive alternative solutions. He like a deer in headlights in most interviews. He wagers nothing - it's hard to have debate when only one party is putting stuff out there. The BCTF would be in their glory to have him in, though.

@KenS_7191 Glad he disagrees with everything the Liberals say, nothing they do or have done is working so good thing it wont be more of the same old lies and corruption.

Its about time for Dix to get a fire lit under his butt ! The NDP are caught in a dilemna - they are ahead in the race but they know the minute Dix opens his mouth people will see what an airhead he is and their lead will vanish.

@ChrisM_18 Instead of like Christy, who opens her mouth and removes all doubt. I think Sponge Bob Squarepants could run and win against the Libs this time.....

"So I wanna be" Of course she is a "WANNA BE" She still talks like a beer delivery girl at the Blue Boy. Like a hillbilly. Not like the MILF that she thinks she is. But at least she is saying something these days. Of course it's her pr people that are pulling the MILF's strings. Oh poor little Hamie. Having a "WANNA BE" MILF for a mother.

@PhilW_2 Looking forward to her return engagement on Funtly Street. Just want her to try explain why a MILF should be on a bible scam show.

Still can't understand how they talked an Olympic gold medal winner into standing for such a bunch of liars and BS artists. She has a child and the smart meters her new friends are forcing on her will only harm him even further.
She would have been better received if she had ran even as an Green

brianp_1950: Some NDP supporter you are. Mike Farnworth is in charge and takes all high blood pressure problems, so leave it with him and cool down.
The race in life is a long one, Brian. It is only with yourself and not Ken280 or anyone else.
Your chances in life are only at half mast, Brian. So it is with everyone else, including Ken280.
Health is number one, not the hip pocket, as Jim SinClair and Susan Lambert preach all the time.
It will all be over at 8:45pm on May 14, 2013,
If the Liberals win, business as usual.

If the NDP wins, then some working B.C. taxpayers start receiving lay off slips on May 15, 2013.

    Just straight common sense ecnomics.

@joes_2868 The government has spent millions in advertising in the final weeks of 2012 to persuade voters it is a prudent manager of the public purse. In the face of mounting sober advice to the contrary, Premier Christy Clark and de Jong remain wedded to their promise of delivering a balanced budget in the new fiscal year.

These two are rushing headlong toward B.C.’s very own version of America’s fiscal cliff and they don’t seem to appreciate their peril. Clark & Co. are exiting 2012 under the darkest of clouds. Their Christmas Grinch is Moody’s Investor Service, which has deposited a lump of coal of biblical proportions in B.C.’s stocking.

Moody’s is the financial world’s Vatican. When this credit rating institution rains on your parade, it is best to start building an arc.

Moody’s has downgraded B.C.’s financial status to AAA-negative from AAA-stable. Moody’s blames it on our worsening financial situation, which has investors worried about the government’s ability to avoid increasing its massive overall debt load.

“A more subdued economic outlook, compounded with lower-than-anticipated natural gas resource revenues, along with continued expense pressures presents risks to achieving the fiscal plan and to stabilizing and ultimately reversing the recent accumulation in debt,” says Moody’s assistant vice-president Jennifer Wong, lead analyst for the province.Bottom line? When it comes to managing our treasury, the Liberals are running on empty. On their watch, B.C.’s total debt has doubled in just over a decade from $33 billion to $66 billion. I have been harping on this theme ad nauseam. A province dedicated to holding the line on personal income taxes while constrained by shrinking resource revenues cannot keep growing its net debt by roughly $2 billion a year and claim to have a prudent fiscal plan.

@fredb_7066 You forgo the coleman deal where forest lands were handed out to friends.

Paying for billions overrun from Hydro that has been deferred.

Ken280: "Fools rush in" by Ricky Nelson. Is that what you are listening to right now.
Ken, stop being so stubborn and take care of the high blood pressure readings. Is the NDP that worthwhile to worry about?
  11. velcro posted on 01/19/2013 08:32 AM
Crusty is showing us what a true idiot she really is; BC is being run by a communist bunch of a-holes. We need the NDP to put BC back on track.
    1. MichaelD_10 posted on 01/19/2013 12:36 PM
@velcro Sheepeople is all there is in BC There is little hope on the economic front in BC unless the sheepeople can get there heads around the Cummins Conservatives. The Liberals have seriously worn out thier welcome. The NDP are the same petty bunch that brought us Bingo-gate, Fast frerries with racing engines that would be good for one race but not the life of a ferry. But don't worry about voting you can answer the Angus read polls and then listen into CKNW and hear who the winners will be weeks before the election.

@velcro How soon you all forget! How in the hell will the NDP put "BC back on track"?? The last time around the NDP (New Depression Party) drove the Province into the ground and BC was relegated to a "have not" Province.
It is very easy to bash Clark; but be very careful what you wish for. Dix was in the NDP "power group" the last time they screwed things up.

These photo ops we all know she clings to, be it commenting on an Alberta fund raiser, or her main concern of the decade, Bollywood Awards, she is like a grasping passenger on the Titanic, looking for a seagull feather. I can't figure out why she just doesn't pack her bags and head for the middle east. With helpers like Rich Coleman, the poor lady, as Milfy as she might think of herself, can't undo absolutely everything this party has done wrong. In all fairness, she started in the quagmire, thanks to the biggest ------- B.C. ever met. I don't think she is a bad person, simply easily mislead and guided. I ask you usual contributors to list the things the Liberals have done RIGHT with beneficial outcomes for B.C. citizens. C'mon Chris and Ken, tell us all the good the Liberals have done, and forget going after Dix. He will look after himself. He has more morality, logic, and honesty than all the Liberals combined have in their a-s pocket!

RegA: Very funny Reg! You have a set of double standards. First of all, when it comes to your hip pocket you use consumer affairs on everything you buy.
Secondly, you would never take back a former spouse from a previous divorce to re-create the nightmare but am willing to do it with government.
Voting in Adrian Dix is very poor economics when the truth is that in 2017, he would be voted out.
WHY? GLEN CLARK WON THE NDP A SECOND TERM WITH A 3 SEAT MAJORITY OVER THE OPPOSITION AND STILL GOES AND BUILD FAST CAT FERRIES. THE NERVE OF THE MAN!
The readers expect much better from you, Reg!

brianp1950: You still have not answered previous requests. That is, there are 85 ridings in B.C. As you seem to know so much, please list for the readers what ridings will go NDP and what ridings will go Liberal.
We are all waiting for your answer.
    1. miltw posted on 01/23/2013 09:11 AM
@joes_2868 One riding they may get ,and it is not because of the liebral name , is parks ville. They are going on an Olympic gold winner in the hopes that overshadows the liebral record. Can't figure why a person of integrity would stoop to starting off a political career running for a dishonest government though.
The weird thing is Michelle S. has a child that may be further harmed by the emf from the smart meters? Someone spun something to this lady.
