The Top Ten scams of 2012 as reported by Vancouver Police and the Better Business Bureau involve social media and internet fraud.

The bureau's president and CEO for mainland BC says it's easy for victims to fall prey to bogus advertising, sales and even love scams.

"Even if you encounter someone or something that seems genuine or professional, sometimes that package can just be too good to be true."

Danielle Primrose says the internet is a key festering pool.

"Many, many opportunities for people to be taken advantage of unfortunately."

Other longstanding scams include ponzi schemes and door-to-door fraudsters offering home improvements that aren't needed.

Biggest scam of the year. Cristy's "job plan" about building gas plants putting everyone to work in the energy resource sector expanding our Ports, work work work. BS! Now they've even dismantled the movie industry and Cristy is so inept and so busy playing politics she hasn't made one critical decisions required to move this government/province forward. She comes back from holidays and the first thing she does is comment in light of the milf remark.Well I guess it's been on her mind, I rest my case.

Along the lines of "if it looks to good to be true the it is too good to be true!" The scam of the year 2013 will be the provincial NDP.

All the leftwing nitwits that compare Dix and co to the second coming are in for a very rude surprise when Dix finally opens his mouth and proves that there is a vacuum between his ears !!

@ChrisM_18 You are going to get all sorts of insults from the left from this remark, however having lived through two NDP govenments I am just holding my breath.

@ChrisM_18 Considering the Liberals' track record for the past 13 years, it's time for a change in government. While past NDP governments haven't always been fiscally prudent, I think Adrian Dix has a good head on his shoulders. He remains calm in the face of adversity and seems to problem solve rather than blame the opposing party. I'd like to see what he achieves as our premier.
