The lead singer of the band Chilliwack has put together a re-make of the 10 Days of Christmas on YouTube to promote Sir Richard McBride Elementary School's bid for a new playground in an online competition.

Bill Henderson plays the guitar while students from the school encourage people to vote online for a replacement to their playground which was destroyed by arson for the third time in two years in September.

"If you have a lot of problems and you're trying to budget where you should put your resources and your energy, probably the smartest thing, in terms of long term anyway, is to put it into children."

McBride Elementary is hoping to win $50,000 to $100,000 through the competition.
