More celebrities are latching on to anti-pipeline activism in Canada – this time, for an event in Victoria next week.

The star power includes Canadian and American actors such as Mark Ruffalo, Daryl Hannah, Ellen Page, Pamela Anderson, Michael Moore, Mia Kirshner, Peter Keleghan and Tantoo Cardinal.

In a statement, Hannah says her group stands in solidarity with “our northern neighbours” who gather in Victoria to defend the coast.

More than 3,500 people arr signed up to attend a mass sit-in.

Organizer Greenpeace says the event builds on the success of previous protests against the Keystone XL pipeline in the U.S.

The sit-in takes place next Monday on the front lawn of the B.C. Legislature.

Gag me - when did we become interested in what they have to say - their celebritystatus does not imply rational intelligent thought
