More job action at ICBC
VANCOUVER/CKNW (AM980)

The union at ICBC has announced more job action in its on-going contract dispute.

COPE local 378 has issued 48-hour notice that it's returning to 1996 workload levels for adjustors - the last time the insurance corporation studied such things.

Union president David Black says workload is a big problem, especially at claims centres.

The job action means customers may have a longer wait to get an appointment at 42 claims centres around the province.

@JasJ Where does this article say anything about a day off? It only talks about work load levels. Please stay on topic....

work-load? again 2 words that you are mis-using and mis-understanding!
    1) Work - this is foreign to all ICBC and any BC Corp or public Sector workers!
    2) Load - this is what ICBC and their Union is feeding us - BIG time

there has NEVER been ANY GOOD SERVICE (another foreign concept to ICBC) at any ICBC department or claims center - and especially beyond.

Like way back in the last BIG STRIKE way back in the 80's (or so?)
FIRE THEM ALL - re-hire with fresh new faces and nice smart people that don;t mind doing a full day's work for fair pay!

STOP ICBC FROM JOING IN THE CONTINUED RAPING AND PILAGING OF BC AND IT'S PEOPLE! WHO WILL SAVE US FROM THIS BULLY?

@speakup When was the last time you had a claim? i've been unlucky enoug to need them a few times over the last 10 years or so. Nothing my fault before you go tossing blame.... Their service has been exceptional every time! Repairs have been promptly handled, and compensation been very fair.

Not ever claim is going to go smoothly true, but if people would go in the first place showing at least some respect towards the PEOPLE at ICBC, then maybe they'd get some decent service. No one wants to serve a jerk.

Longer than one month actually. Now ask exactly how many "days off" they have taken. And maybe ask exactly how many employees were involved in these "days off."

The strike action is hardly about taking a "day off" I know all this...yet I choose not to "spin" the article to suit my own purposes and simply read the article and form opinions based upon that information without reading more into it.

ICBC (Insurance Certainly Benefits Cooperation) People that genuinely get injured from automobile accidents should NOT have to live in poverty and loose everything. Meanwhile, the same people that put injured people in poverty by refusing to pay disability or rehabilitation go on strike for higher wages! Seriously?!?!?!?! They want more of the money we all have to pay for insurance meanwhile injured people get overlooked. If it wasn’t for the NDP, ICBC would exist, so its time these people rethink their roll, it is our insurance dollars that are paying for their wages, we employ them so in reality they work for US! Perhaps it’s time for all the injured people to come together and join ICBC on their picket line and fight of our justice.
