Organizers say it's going to be the biggest Pink Shirt Day ever this year.

The event, now in its sixth year, aims to take a stand against bulling throughout Vancouver and around the world.

Dave Teixeira says students at hundreds of schools will wear their pink shirts and buttons today, joined by police, paramedics, firefighters, bus drivers and others.

"So far, we've sold over 70,000 T-shirts, and what's great about this of course is that all the proceeds go to the CKNW Orphans Fund and also to the Boys and Girls Clubs to combat bullying."

BC Place even turns pink today.

Organizers hope to raise $200,000.

Why are the 'kids'(?) on the shirts all portrayed as being sooo weird looking? Just My OPINION
and why do the pink shirt people always portray the bully as the biggest and loudest? as portrayed CLEARLY on some of your ads.
This is WRONG and bullys anyone NOT falling into their small and weird category.
Pink Shirts - just another reason to let kids whine about 'not fair' and 'I'm telling' - we are all ALLOWED TO HAVE AND GIVE OUR OPINION.

Real bullying situations are never documented - espwecially NOT in schools - too much paper work and a black mark for administration.
So really THEY NEVER EXISTED!......ahhh what a nice world we live in

@speakup You sound like a bully yourself--making fun of kids on shirts and accusing schools of not doing anything on bullying.

Teachers do not have to report bullying nor do they have to do "too much paperwork" on bullying. Why not? Because they deal with bullying immediately. They call students on their language and how they treat each other.

What do you do to prevent bullying? How to you deal with bullies?
