Port Moody Police have an update on a teen taken to hospital after a party bus was checked on Friday night.

Police say officers came across the party bus, which was picking up a group for a planned event.

They say the officers checked in with the adult chaperone and the bus operator and spoke with some of the young people getting ready to go on.

An 18 year old woman intending to partake apparently arrived already drunk.

The chaperone told police she wouldn't be allowed on.

The teen was taken into custody and later taken to hospital.  She was released within a few hours.

Police say she didn't have any liquor but they did find a small amount of liquor before the young people got on the bus.

A 16 year old boy died just over a week ago, after collapsing on another party bus in Surrey.

So if the police hadn't been there to do a spot check would the chaperone have been so vigilant in denying the teen permission to get on the Party Bus ? I don't think so !!
