Police are looking for a suspect after a double-murder in West Kelowna.

Mounties say they responded to a car crash late last night in which a black S-U-V had smashed into a light standard outside the Terra Vita apartment complex.

They found two bodies inside, but later determined they had not died because of the crash, but had been murdered.

Witnesses reported seeing a man flee the scene, so police sent out a canine unit.

Police say it appears the suspect headed southwest from the complex down a walking trail and into a residential area.

No names have been released.
