A man's been hit and killed by a train in Port Coquitlam.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Paul Willms says police were called to the Canadian Pacific rail yard about midnight.

"We attended and did find an, as of yet, unidentified male next to the tracks, approximately 200 metres east of the West Coast Express station.  In conjunction with the coroner's service, we're continuing our investigation."

Willms adds foul play has been ruled out.

Police are having trouble identifying the man because he wasn't carrying I.D.
