Idle No More protesters outside a Burnaby hotel where Prime Minister Stephen Harper spent the Friday say like him, they feel let down by Patrick Brazeau, a First Nations Senator now charged with assault and sexual assault.

"Stephen Harper's got to go, hey, hey, ho, ho," they chanted.

A handful of demonstrators say they were disappointed to learn Brazeau , who is Canada's youngest senator, is accused of violence.

"It's very upsetting for sure."

Lorelei Williams says she's spent time with Brazeau, who's been critical of the Idle No More Movement and recently joked about Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence's weight.  Spence spent months on a hunger protest, helping spark the movement.

"Actually, I wanted to call on Senator Brazeau. He's not being with us. He's not being with his people."

Brazeau was appointed to the Senate in 2008.

I was there listening to their noise and chants jumping up and down, about 7pm waiting to pick someone up, but unless I'm wrong Harper was there for lunch, they were a group of kids and those about 18 +, no adults, I do not think they knew what they were chanting about, only 2 RCMP officers were present. I do not know if Harper was staying at the hotel over night, he may have gone for some gambling in Casino and would not hear them any way!

I think it is time to STOP the handouts. We have given Billions over the years to see it squandered by the chiefs and its band council with 6 figure salaries and the rest of the reserve lives in poverty. Why do you think they are refusing to have there books looked at by the government .....

Time to stop making restitution for what our Forefathers did over 100 years and let them integrate into society or let them live the way they did as their forefathers did in the past.

    My 2 cents ...

Brazeau was a token appointment, and we paid him big bucks for 4 or 5 years to embarras us. Did he contribute anything? ANS: No. Does the rest of the senate contribute anything? ANS: no. It's high time we sacked our parliamentary system, and start from scratch.

why don't these "idle no more" people start questioning their own chiefs and council members about the monies being received and hold them accountable instead of the federal government. perhaps it is time for the taxpayers to insist that the dept of indian affairs seek expense accounts from all bands. why are we continually giving them money with no accountability when we know abuse is occuring ?let's start our own movement called "we are not putting up with this b.s. no more".
