The BC Government and Service Employees' union is serving strike notice on BC Pavillion Corporation that runs BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The union says after three days of discussions with their employer, a deal isn't possible,  so when their contract is set to expire Monday morning,  job action will begin.

The main issues are job security, contracting out, scheduling and availability.

Most PAVCO BCGEU employees work on setting up and taking down equipment and staging,  as well as event security and housekeeping.
