It is so great that they found him. Now add up all the costs that it took to find this jerk and present him with it. Just because he was entitled and probably never said no to by his modern parents or given a spank on the ass is no reason to put all these people in harms way to save him.WHAT AN F'ING JERK. It's about time they were called what they are.

@BY What ????? You are asking for someone to be held accountable for their actions ? What kind of monster are you ???
Where would such thinking stop ??? Would you punish someone who killed another person while driving drunk with a lenghty criminal sentence ?
Would you punish someone who beat an ex police dog todeath with time in the can and a hefty fine ?
If you answer yes to these questions - you would have my vote in the next election !

Sorry ChrisM I can't do the 2 or 3 step that you have to do to be a LIEBERAL.. But I do answer yes to all your ?'s. The amount of people this F'ING JERK put in harms way just so he could have a good time. I sure hope his parents are pleased with the son they have brought up in this world. Sounds like he is going to fit in just good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Send him the bill. There should be no question about this, it's perfectly sensible.
He should apologise profusely to the people who risked their lives to save him, and be more than glad to pay for this service.

Another negligent individual who went out of bounds and ignored all the warning signs. He also ignored the well-publicised experiences of numerous other individuals who went out of bounds in previous years and had to be rescued.

The search and rescue people do this voluntarily. They leave their families and jobs and put their lives at risk to rescue self-indulgent individuals who think it can’t happen to them.

There are numerous costs associated with any rescue such as this. Helicopters cost over $1000 per hour. While the search and rescue people don't get paid, there are numerous other people involved with rescues who do get paid. This individual should be held completely accountable and should be presented with an invoice and be required to pay it in full. There really is no excuse for what he did.

So the next time you guys need an ambulance, or a medivac to a hospital, don't forget your cheque book.

If you check the nsr website, they were given $10 000 for the 2 week search for a dog on seymour. More than they needed. I appreciate all the hard work they do but it's not costing you much tax dollars for the rescues.

Have some compassion because you never know where you might stranded next unless all you do is sit on a chair making fun of people's demises.

You might find yourself fishing and are swept down stream, maybe your boat runs of gas and you are swept into sea by the current, maybe your float plane trip from van to vic crashes, maybe you are 4 wheeling up a logging road and go over an embankment or maybe you run off the sea to sky highway and down a bluff... stop being so callous. Accidents and mistakes happen. Maybe he could have done things differently, hind sight is 20/20.

@John P_2984 The difference here is that this bonehead went out of bounds . He took a deliberate action that resulted in all of this activitiy . It isn't an innocent mistake or screwup its a deliberate disregard for the rules .

Was he rescued by the NS search and Rescue team that caused the most expensive search in North American history when 7 of them tried to hike Mt Logan.
That search included Canadian military, U,S, Coast Guard and Alaska National Guard.
At least one of them was a civil servant who can no longer do his job due to his injuries and we are paying him for life.

Now, were you self righteous folks speaking as the kettle or the pot?
