Abraham Kiewiet a former Vancouver lifeguard is facing more sex related charges.

Vancouver Police Constable Brian Montague says five new victims have come forward.

"The first five were all male victims the most recent five are both male and female."

Montague says crown counsel has approved five new charges for a total of 22.

"There are 8 counts of indecent assault on a male. Three counts of indecent assault on a female and eleven counts of gross indecency. Now those are crimes that are necessarily in the criminal code today they are offences that would have been in place at the time of the offence so in the 70's and 80's"

He says police believe there are more victims out there.

Police are encouraging others with information on Kiewiet to give them a call.

Kiewiet was arrested and released on Wednesday.

Police say he has conditions including staying from kids and places like parks and schools where children congregate.

70-year-old Kiewiet is alleged to have sexually assaulted his victims during the 1970's and 80's.
