Whistler RCMP are looking into a report of an attempted sexual assault in the village area.

They say the report came in from the victim shortly after 2:00 this morning.

The victim was walking home from a nightclub.

Police say while she was walking on a path in the area of Whistler Way and Village Gate, a man grabbed her, pulled her into a ditch and tried to sexually assault her.

She fought back and escaped.

The suspect is described as a south asian male, about 6 feet tall with a medium built.

He was wearing a khaki coloured jacket, possibly a hoodie and may have some scratches or bruises from when the victim fought back.
