After hosting three crowded public hearings on the matter, city councillors in Vancouver have approved a new housing proposal for the West End.

Devonshire Properties has been granted a re-zoning application to build 133 more rental units in the 16-hundred blocks of Beach and Harwood.

Concerns were raised about the affordability of the homes to be rented for more than 11-hundred dollars per month.

Some residents of the area are also worried about losing their unobstructed views of English Bay.
