As the P0rovincial Government prepares to unveil the budget this week, Liberal MLA John Les is downplaying reports of unrest in the party.

He says the Premier is working very hard, and the party is fine.

Les calls rumors there will be a non-confidence vote after the budget is tabled unfounded.

"I hope there is a vote of some kind on the Budget this week, because it will prove once and for all that all of this is just spin and rubbish."

A vote of non-confidence could dissolve the legislature, kicking off an early election.

Les says there were a few things that haven't gone the way the party wanted, but they have great candidates and a strong vision for BC’s future.

Goodbye Liberals. Enjoy your retirement, because all the spin and fibs have caught up to you and can't change the fact that the citizens have FINALLY said enough. In May, the flushing sound will be Liberals dancing the swirly with the rest of the waste. My kingdom for an ethical government.

Nope, nothing wrong here. I guess her Highness was just trying to do "the right thing" by cuddling up to John Slater. It is funny that it came out that she on took contacting Mr. Slater personally, I guess even her henchmen wouldn't stoop that low in public..

@bctaxpayer Lets get rid of all the lying Liberal party hacks the sooner the better. They are a desperate bunch of loosers who'll do anything to stay in power.

I'm admittedly a political junkie and I look for every snippet of political news I can get to immerse myself in everything politics and I my personal take and in my humble opinion I'm getting the sense that even BC Liberal MLAs are getting tired of their own party and are pretty much willing to either be absent or vote against their parties own budget. They see the pain and loss coming and I think they just want to get it all over and done with.

And I might also point out that more and more people including the business community are warming up to the NDP and in particular Adrian Dix because he is calm, straightforward and quite thought in his approach to government. He has removed himself from the NDP of the past and looked seriously and honestly at the NDP previous terms in government to get a handle on the mistakes they made. He has also done this with the previous Social Credit and current BC Liberal governments. All governments make mistakes and he is striving to avoid that pitfall as best as he can should the NDP form government.

I expect nothing less from Cabinet Ministers in stating that nothing is wrong in the BC Liberal caucus. They will do all they can to project unity and authority of government even though it looks as if they are all on a and willing to go down with a sinking ship...

Well ,if you read AGT , it looks like this is just whistling in the dark by a Liberal hack.

The backlash that will hit when it comes out that thegovernment isn't ready to switch back to the GST will not be survivable

I know it wouldn't happen but what this province needs is a major cleansing from mid management right up to the top hogs. Keep the people that are doing the actual work and turf the dead wood along with the liebrals . Do it once and do it right. A new team and new contracts. They don't like it there are people able to step in and run the projects. Each project could be securely fact checked and all info made public prior to contracts being awarded.

I picked the wrong year to quit drinking didn't I.

let's all be very careful what we wish for in the next election. hmmmm...liberals ?....ndp ?...conservatives ? ....other ? or perhaps none of the above ?...i do beleive that this will be one of the hardest decisions to make in my 50 years of voting.

@BOBF_5970 Unfortunately your thoughtfulness won't be shared by most voters as their aim will be to punish the Liberals

@BOBF_5970 I have to agree. This will be one of the hardest decision I have faced in all my years of voting. The only thing I do know for sure is that it CANNOT be for the current Liberal Party. To say that they are corrupt to the core is an extreme understatement.

Window dressing on Johns part. The problem is since the ridiculous throne speach, no one believes Christy anymore. Kash Heed will vote against the budget as will old members of the party that were turfed by Christy. Even if the budget does pass, the damage is significant. No one believes her anymore apart from die hard loyalists.
