Murder in Abbotsford

A home on Cassiar court in Abbotsford is behind yellow tape as police investigate the city's latest murder.


The victim is a 40-year old woman.


A man the same age is in custody, but police haven't said if they were a couple.


Constable Ian MacDonald does say police were called to the home by a family member at 7:30pm. 


The caller asked police to check on the wellbeing of a female resident.


More information will come from IHIT, which has taken over the investigation.

    This comment is not directed to the news story above - it is directed to the news story about the Liberal candidate facing six charges !
    For reasons I don't understand the comments section has been locked down on this story after about 6 comments ??
    So I'm forced to make this comment here
    I think that the Liberals look like a pack of fools - they are hammering away on Dix for back dating a note, and here they have known for a while that one of their candidates has a serious legal problem and they haven't dumped him
    Whats good for the goose is good for the gander !!

      @ChrisM_18 Thank you for making this comment. I've noticed more than once that "comments are closed" when it's a particularly good opportunity to hold the Liberals' feet to the fire. CKNW is in bed with the Liberals if you ask me. Journalists don't have a code of ethics. They can write biased articles any time they wish. Shame!

      @ChrisM_18 Absolutely correct. This is a form of censorship. I'd like to know whether its CKNW or a Liberal threat to pull advertising.
