Vancouver Police are looking for the suspect in an early morning sexual assault in downtown Vancouver.

Sergeant Randy Fincham say the man involved in the attack, just before three,  likely ended up with scratches on his face and nose.

"The woman was waiting at a bus stop  in the 600 block of Smithe and that's when this man came up and grabbed her and ended up sexually assualting her in the 900 block of Granville Street, so that's a lane that's jsut a short ways away from where this bus stop was"

Fincham says fortunately two people near by heard her screams and managed to scare off her attacker who ran north on Granville.

He's described as  white,  25 - 30 year old, about 5-10 with a medium build and wearing dark clothes at the time.

If you have any information call Vancouver Police.

It`s looking like women should be legally armed with tasers. This is all too common lately with these freaks creeping up behind women and groping them!! Drop that weirdo with 50,000 volts. At the same time he will not go anywhere and successfully be arrested

@HedgeH A taser would not work through winter cloths. A concealed hand gun would work. But those are illegal in Canada. Canadians want only bad men and police to have guns.

I'm glad the woman was able to leave some "distinguishing features" (scratches) on his face. He'll be more easily identifiable that way. Hope the police can find him.

BTW, the mistakes in this copy make me want to get my red pen out!
