A surprising admission from Education Minister Don McRae - he says he didn't know the B-C Teachers Federation and the Public School Employers Association were reaching a deal on how to carry out bargaining for a new contract, at the same time his government was coming up with its 10-year contract plan.
McRae told CKNW's Bill Good this morning, "We basically put together a document, a framework for conversation, and yes i guess there was a little bit of misundertanding. It wasn't grandstanding, we just wanted to make sure we got the information out there as soon as possible. But I didn't find out they're going to be talking about this until it was released in the media after the week before on the saturday I believe it was."
On the weekend the union and employers' association ratified the plan that will see bargaining begin one week from today.
