Premier Christy Clark may soon have a tough decision to make, as she rounds up nominees for the upcoming provincial election.

Former  mayor Sam Sullivan is seeking the Liberal nomination for the same riding a longtime Clark supporter wants.

Sullivan says he's already spoken with former MLA Lorne Mayencourt.

"I actually have a lot of respect for Lorne, as well. We've actually had some good communication about that and our mutual respect. We both believe this will be good for the party."

But he's been careful not to suggest the Premier asked him to run in Vancouver-False Creek.

"I had a very good conversation with the Premier. She certainly was very open. It really is my admiration for her --is part of the reason that I am putting myself forward."

Mayencourt has yet to confirm he'll also seek the nomination.

Really glad to see someone of Sam's caliber stepping up. Sam's politics represent the whole Vancouver community, the business community would be wise to get behind him. Not matter what happens between the parties Sam presence in Victoria is good for Vancouver!

Sam is an experienced politician who lives in the riding of False Creek. He is familiar with the issues that affect the riding and he cares passionately about it. Sam works well with people across the political spectrum. He is a strong supporter of the arts, he cares about those who are less fortunate, and he has done a lot of work with multi-cultural communities. He is not a "typical politician". Sam is open to new ideas and will try new ways to solve old problems. He would be a great asset to the people of Vancouver False Creek and the BC Liberals.

I was wondering how long it would take Opey to head for the cameras, again. He, like his leader(Ms. Clark) have this "Center of the Universe" fetish, and just have to do it. The next astounding thing(in 2013) will be Ms. Clark being appointed a consular commission in Bejing by Mr. Harper. Mark my words, folks. Vancouver doesn't have to worry about Sam going anywhere, the people have had enough of pie in the sky politicians.
